Google faces second German ruling over false AI answers
A second German court has held Google responsible for false claims in its AI search answers. The Aachen Regional Court barred Google from spreading certain false statements about a local physician, whose AI Mode entries allegedly tied him to a criminal case against a different former professor. Google said in mid-September it would take no action after he complained. The decision, dated 24 September 2026, was issued as an emergency order without hearing Google. It is not final, and it relied on the Munich ruling from May.
Why it matters: These are German rulings, so the source doesn't say how Australian courts would treat AI summaries. If your business appears in AI search results, check what they say about you regularly.
